Raila Juu!

The general consensus is amongst the Kenyans is that Raila Odinga is going to be the next president of Kenya. I guess it is time for the Odinga family to come into power and make as much chedha as possible for the next five years.

Check out the article: Reform is the route to stability for Kenya by John Githonga. An interesting read.

Redundant

As of tomorrow, I am going to be officially redundant… My boss is hiring this loud, chirpy, obnoxious ‘pair of boobs’ two levels senior to me (at a grade five) to practically replace me. He even put my job title on her disgusting offer letter… MY FUCKING JOB TITLE!!!! Guess who is supposed to welcome her into the bank, write up a set of draft job objectives, train her to do the job etc.?!?! I think this is a sign…. Leave this fucked up organisation now before they fire your ugly ass.

Now granted I don’t have big boobs and thighs of a goddess, but I am bloody good at what I do, in fact, I am fantastic at what I do….. I deserve every penny of the bonus I am paying myself!!!!!

What the fuck is he thinking…? I can be very evil and disruptive if I choose to.

Goal - The Movie

I just watched the most god-awfully painful hindi movie – Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. Surprisingly, it has been a while. Now I am admittedly not a big footy fan, however I can appreciate a good/decent/moderately OK cinematic creation when I see one. I even considered leaving during the intermission, but that would have been rude since I came with Snap, Crackle and Pop.
Now it is pretty much your normal sports-themed bollywood movie with some cheesy dialogues and random songs and there are no second guess about how it ends; but what I hated most about it is that every white British (including the ref in the final match) is portrayed as a racist bastard and every Indian, Pakistani, Bengali etc. living in the UK as an oppressed second grade citizen!

I guess you do whatever you have to draw in and entertain the Indian public. My recommendation, whatever it maybe worth, save your money!!! Wait till its on TV and Tivo/PVR/Sky Plus it and watch it when you are very very bored at 2am on a Sunday morning!

2007

The last twelve months can only be described as a roller-coaster ride. The highs have been absolutely brilliant, and the lows…. well lets just say they weren’t the happiest of times. No matter how long before you see it coming, when cancer takes away a loved one away, it hits home hard!

As cliché as it might sound…. I do feel a little stronger, further accomplished, a wee bit confident and a lot more resilient than I did a year ago.

This year I did a lot of what I love doing best… Traveling! Apart from several trips to Kenya and a bit of travel around South Africa, I made it to Malaysia (twice), Indonesia, UAE, UK, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Singapore and even India! From the food connoisseurs to the adrenaline junkies, this year, I went on some unforgettable holidays with incredible family and friends.
Hopefully, the next twelve months will also include loads of travel to far and distant lands with great company.

However, 2007 for me will always be the year when my two closest friends, DJ and Queen tied the knot with their respective fiancées/partners. Against the odds and at a fair expense (financial and non-financial), I managed to attend both weddings on different continents eleven months apart! The truth is that I would never have missed either wedding for the world.

The ceremonies were entirely different; however the emotions at the time were pretty similar. I was happy they had each found and married the one person in the world that they would spend the rest of their lives with and at the same time sad because I probably would not be able to command the same amount of time, attention and importance I used to.

DJ and Queen - I love you both very very much and as ‘disney’ as this might sound, I truly hope you both live happily ever after…… THE END
